Red Carpet Review: Golden Globes 2013

The 70th Annual Golden Globes were held in Los Angeles last night and as always, the stars did not dissapoint.  Kate Hudson stunned with her last minute choice of Alexander McQueen (pictured above) and I don't even like Taylor Swift, but she finally looked like a grown up in her Donna Karan Atelier plum gown with those stunning ombre mesh panels on the back.  I also loved Salma Hayek in Gucci, Adele in Burberry, and Anne Hathaway in Chanel. And then, Claire Danes walked out in red Versace after having a baby on December 17 (4 weeks ago!) and just blew me away!

My favorites were the couples who looked adorable.  My hands down favorite were Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner looking sharp. Ben sported a navy 3-piece tuxedo by Gucci and Jennifer wowed in Vivienne Westwood Haute Couture.  I also loved Emily Blunt and John Krasinksi and I can never leave out Naomi Watts and Liev Schrieber.  Naomi also wore the red trend well in Zac Posen and Schrieber rocked his Calvin Klein Tuxedo.

It was sooo hard to choose my worst dressed because there were really so many candidates! Helena Bonham-Carter makes it so easy at every awards show and I decided to leave Jessica Chastain alone because she seems like a nice woman, but Kaley Cuoco and Stacey Keibler are fair game.  Kaley, this Zuhair Murad gown had so much potential and fits you so well and then your makeup ruined everything! Stacey, this dress explains why George was canoodling with Amy Poehler instead of you during the Golden Globes!  My "winner" for worst dressed was Jennifer Lopez in a nude Zuhair Murad gown.  I've grown tired of all her gowns that just manage to "strategically cover" her assets.  Truly, when Taylor Swift looks better than you, you went astray somewhere!

I will end with some happy notes.  Below is one of my favorite couples of the night: George Clooney and Amy Poehler. Also, how yummy and fantastic did Bradley Cooper look?!?! I thought it was so cute when the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press used her brief moment on stage to hit on him.  And I agreed with her!

Who were your favorites?

  1. I was really loving Jennifer Lawrence's gown. Kate Hudson's gown was lovely. But, I feel that she should have worn her hair up so that the detail around the collar could be shown off a bit more.

  2. I really don't even have much to add since you said everything I'm already thinking. I loved Kate Hudson and Adele (because duh). I wasn't a fan of what Swifty's dress was doing to her boobs but I was willing to look past it since she didn't wear light pink for once.

  3. I wanted to like Jennifer Lawrence's gown, but the torpedo boobs killed me. Also, I know she had the flu, but I can't believe she said she was wearing Kevin Dior on national TV!

Yes! Adele looked fantastic! The dress really accentuated her waist and she is so humble, I just wanted to hug her!

Did anyone else laugh out loud when Tina Fey told Taylor Swift to stay away from Michael J. Fox's son and take some "me" time? I DIED!

Tell me what you think, but be nice! You catch more flies with sugar than spice!
