New Orleans Day 2: WWII Museum and Lee Circle

This was one of my favorite vacations in a long, long time.  We didn't set the alarm for any day and we didn't make plans (except for one tour because it was sold out) ahead of time.  It was incredible to wake up when we were rested and wander around looking for food and entertainment.

Sweater: Gap
Scarf: Tally Weijl
Jeans: Joe’s Jeans
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik Pruneta
Bag: Jean Paul Gaultier
Cuff: So Good Jewelry (purchased in New Orleans)
Earrings: Blue Nile (birthday gift from Mr. Fantastic)
Bracelets: Marc Jacobs and DIY
Necklace: old

On our second day in New Orleans we went to the National World War II Museum and stayed there for hours.  If you have never been, I highly recommend it.  I was surprised to discover that the national museum is in New Orleans because I would have expected it to be in Washington DC, but they have it here because the company that made the Higgins boats (the ones that open up front and allowed the soldiers to storm the beaches of Normandy) were made here in New Orleans.  This is me looking dubious as Mr. Fantastic plays with the camera's white balance (we failed, meh.)
After the museum kicked us out closed, we wandered over to Lee Circle for a little while.  I think it's interesting that it is a traffic circle and yet, they have streetlights on it! Doesn't that defeat the purpose?  I have to admit something here...I was very disappointed to discover that the 8 pounds that I'd lost prior to the holidays came back with a vengeance during the holidays.  I don't ever resolve to lose weight, but it's awful to try to edit your bulges out of outfit photos! Instead you will get very closely cropped detail photos. I will give credit to Mr. F, who never comments on my weight and just pretends he can't tell that I'm turning into a chunky monkey.  He bought me the cuff above at a shop on Bourbon Street called So Good Jewelry.
I don't think you will see me in heels except for the last morning and that was because we had our car with us and I didn't have to walk far at all.  Here is another shot of us playing with our new toy (new wide angle lens) at Lee Circle.  It is rumored that the statue of General Lee is facing North because "you should never turn your back on a Yankee."
Happy Tuesday!
