Everything Old is New Again

My mother-in-law has a very stylish friend, Ms. Chevyn Mc Clintock. If any of you recall my joy when I received the vintage Richelieu necklace from my mother in law for my last birthday, Chevyn was responsible for my awesome gift. She didn't even know me then, only that my hubby's mom told her I was into fashion and clothes. Well, Chevyn moved to Manhattan recently and at the time took only her summer clothes. Last week, she asked if we would put together some of her fall clothes and send her some clothes from the closet here in Texas to get her through the cooling weather in New York. Here are some of the outfits we put together to send her.

Red BCBGMaxAzria Flats; Brown Cole Haan Pumps

Red Leather DKNY Skirt; White Gap Button Down

Scarf: Exclusive design of the Metropolitan Museum of Art
In addition to the outfits above, we also included a few other classic pieces that we thought she could mix in with a number of current items to expand her closet. How amazing are these vintage Gucci slippers? And so on trend today!

Dress: Burberry; Bag: Vintage kid leather
Shoes: Bottega Venetta

Classic Grey Theory Slacks
Tiger Stripe Skirt; Black Satin Skirt

Vintage Gucci Slippers
This was so much fun for me and I really appreciated that I was able to share this adventure with my other mom. Chevyn's three closets are amazing and I think I scared my mother in law a little by how excited I was and how I often I bemoaned the fact that I am not as tiny as Chevyn. I was astounded at the quality of so many of her garments and really struck once more by the fact that if you buy great quality items in classic shapes and prints, you can always be fashionable. I am definitely in search of a classic Burberry LBD and a Diane Von Furstenberg classic wrap dress now!
Header Image has a vintage tweed suit and silk blouse
Scarf is vintage Hermes and shoes are Cesare Paciotti
My hope is that one day some woman will sit in awe of the beautiful things I have in MY closet. This was a great reminder to make smart purchases and always go for quality over quantity.

What are the pieces you hope will last you a lifetime?
