LuckyFABB Recap: Part 2

I already talked about the fabulous speakers and panels that enthralled us on Day 1 of LuckyFABB, now you get to read a little about the break-out sessions and brand experiences that thrilled us on Day 2.  We started the day off again with breakfast because it's the most important meal of the day, obviously!
Breakfast was much more intimate because they split it up into two separate groups and a few of us opted for the regular breakfast while others RSVP'd to an intimate breakfast with the MissMe Jeans PR team.  I was happy to be included in the MissMe Jeans breakfast because we got to hear from Vanessa Flay who is the West Coast Director at Digital Brand Architects. She was fun and she talked to us about the importance of developing our unique voice and artistry as well as becoming an authority in our fields and how crucial it is to be honest with your readers as your brand evolves. I loved that she admitted to reading one of my favorite websites: Get Off My Internets and said that she often coaches her clients to read it as well to avoid the pitfalls of terrible blogging. She even referred to it as GOMI as most of us do! LOVED her! And I loved the gift from MissMe Jeans which included a fragrance ring, a flashdrive and a pair of jeans from their line! I was fortunate enough to sit with Veronica of Cid Style File, Carlina of Allergic to Vanilla, and Ashlei of Kinks Are The New Pink.
After breakfast we headed back to the conference for the breakout sessions and brand experiences. We got to sign up for free mini-manicures, which I desperately needed! These were offered by Covet Fashions, a company that is launching an app that will allow you to create lookbooks and link directly to the merchant so you can purchase your looks straight from your phone. They gave away 5 iPad Minis and I am sad to report that I was not the lucky recipient of any of them. :(
After my mani, I wandered over to the Tacori booth where they let us try on over half a million dollars worth of jewelry. My husband called me after I texted him a photo and told me I needed to go lie down somewhere. :) I came back just in time to attend the sessions on photography and my favorite: Beauty Tips from the Pros which was led by Celebrity Make-Up Artist, Bruce Grayson.  He gave us really great advice for blog photos "In print, the best make-up looks like you but better!" in addition to great hands-on tips for how to wear contour and highlighter properly, and told us to drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun! His was definitely one of my favorite sessions before we took a break for lunch.  During lunch, I made my way to the VIP gifting suite because I was lucky enough to snag a VIP ticket and got to enjoy some one on one time with fantastic vendors like Thursday-Friday, Yosi Samra, d'Andrea Handbags, Xen-Tan Self Tanners, and Julie Vos Jewelry! I finished by gorging on Dylan's Candy Bar hosted by LeSportsac.  All this before lunch!
After lunch, I took in a breakout session on growing your traffic where Raman Kia, the Executive Director of Integrated Strategy for Conde Nast Media Group talked to us about embracing technology and trying to become one with social media.  This session also included great tips for SEO placement and how to tag your photos so that they show up where you want them to show in Google results, which is still the leading search engine in the world.  I took a quick break to visit the Just Fab booth and L'Occitane as well as Adriano Goldschmied who kindly gifted all of us a denim tote and a Liberty of London + AG scarf. I chose the Brianna flower print above, before heading back for the final session of the day on Styling for your photo shoots and the Resources you need.
We ended the day with cocktails and the enormous and infamous LuckyFABB gift bags. My husband joined me in Los Angeles for a quick weekend getaway and he was totally shocked when he picked me up and we got everything back to the hotel!  I cannot adequately express my gratitude and thanks to Lucky Magazine, the awesome attendees, and the incredibly generous sponsors who overwhelmed us with attention, kindness and of course, gifts! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I immediately slipped into my new Yosi Samra flats to head out to dinner on Abbott Kinney with my husband.  Oh yeah, I wore flats in the morning, then switched to pumps, then back to flats:
Sweater: Gap; Top: Lapis (old); Pants: Balenciaga
Necklace: Swarovski Angelic Pendant
Clutch: Prabal Gurung x Target
; Flats: Lucky Brand
Bracelets: Blue Nile & Fossil; Pumps: Brian Atwood
Thanks again Lucky Magazine! LuckyFABB is definitely my most favorite conference of the year! I can't wait for the next one!

    1. Yes, all the meals were unbelievable! I used to be so intimidated attending blogging conferences, but really it's just a place to finally meet all the people you already "know" in real life.
