While all our blogging counterparts around the country are celebrating the return of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte, we are still melting in the sweltering Texas heat. We escaped to the lake this weekend with friends to give summer a proper send off. When I was in college, I made a huge mistake and took a parasitology class. As a result, I don't drink water from the tap and I don't swim in lakes. On the rare occasions that I make an exception, my anxiety always gets the best of me and I end up at my doctor's office. Instead, I just enjoy being on the boat out on the lake and being around our friends.

It was great to relax even though this marks the official end of our summer schedule. From here until January, every single weekend is booked with activities for our kids, families, charities, or just us.
