ICE! At the Gaylord Texan Hotel

Thursday, we attended ICE! at the Gaylord Texan Hotel with friends.  We'd never been and it was so much fun to play in their frozen winterland.  It is still not cold in Texas, the high's are in the 70's, but at least the evenings get chilly and fall into the 50's.  I carried my new fur hat and gloves in my purse for the ice tent and wore a sweater and scarf with my boots.
Sweater: Gap (old -2010); Camisole: H&M (old -2008)
Jeans: Vince (old - 2010)
Hat & Gloves: Banana Republic Anna Karenina Collection
Scarf: Zara (last season)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Amour
Boots: MIA (2011)
I would like to note that the one instruction we were given was to NOT touch or lick the ice sculptures! I turned in time to see Mr. Fantastic doing this:
For the record, he didn't actually lick the sculpture, he just knew I would be horrified to see him trying his "Christmas Story" tribute.  He pulled me to the ice slide to make me forget he was misbehaving.

I loved all the ice sculptures and it was so much fun to spend the evening at the Gaylord Texan Hotel with friends.  We don't ever get extended cold or ice where we live, so these events are still a novelty for us. I'm sure if we were slushing through the snow and ice, we might be over it.

What winter events do you have in your area?

  2. That's so cool! Wait, are those ice sculptures all indoor? that's so... weird. But I guess having them outside would melt, so it makes sense :)

  3. I know! We've had a cold front this week (in Texas that means temps below 40 degrees) but we've had a great and very late Autumn this year. @Kimmie, can you believe it! The sculptors come from Harbin China and they use over 2 MILLION pounds of ice. It is unbelievable!
