I remember everything of that day. I will never forget the initial disbelief that this was happening and the eventual devastation at such a monumental loss of life. Recently, I watched Incredibly Close and Extremely Loud and I cried and cried at the number of stories that have been told and the even larger number of stories that will never be told. This letter by Leonard Pitts, Jr the day after the attacks still says everything we couldn't say in our grief.
Today, I pray for everyone who was directly affected by the cowardly attacks on our country and also for all of us who will always know exactly where we were when we heard of the attacks.
Oh my this is still so sad.I was with friends that day and as I came home it was on tv and I didn´t undertsand what happened first.Such a shock.xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sabrina. I always wondered how the rest of the world saw that day. We were so deep inside the "bubble" that it's hard to imagine what it must have looked like from across the ocean.
