Sunny Winter in Texas

I know we all say it all the time, but the weather in Texas is bipolar! Mr. Fantastic spent the morning with me today. We took the kids to Starbucks in the morning, dropped them off at school and ran around with various errands.  It was FREEZING! The radio said the windchill was in the low thirties.  When I went to check the mail, all bundled up, I literally started sweating from the front door to the mailbox.  So I changed.

Top: Calvin Klein
Shorts: MICHAEL Michael Kors
Shoes: Manolo Blanik
Bracelet: Necklace bought from a street vendor in Los Cabos
Earrings: Blue Nile
Purse: Coach (gifted by a friend many years ago)

The bracelet is actually I necklace I've worn before, I just wrapped it around my wrist like a big bracelet.  The purse is the very first designer bag I ever owned and I got it in college.  A friend and I were going out to a concert and I didn't want to carry a big bag, but I wanted to have something to put my P&S camera and carry some money, ID and lip gloss.  We tried several things before she remembered she had this purse.  It was perfect and a few months later, she gave it to me because she said she'd had it for two years and never figured out how to wear it or with what, but I'd worn it 6 times in three months! I keep it and I always think of her and the damage she did to me at such a tender age giving me a designer purse.
Talking about suede shoes yesterday reminded me that even though I try not to buy suede, I love how soft it feels.  I got these shoes a couple of years ago because I seriously thought I was going to wear them to the St. Patrick's Day parade on Greenville Avenue. I walked outside for about 35 seconds and then begged Mr. Fantastic to wait for me while I ran inside to put on thick socks and boots! That's why they are green.  And that is why I love them.
Happy Friday, make it a great one!

  2. I can only imagine how you would cope with 30 degree weather in TX! 30 actually sounds really good as we're in about 20 degree weather in Chicago. You have such a generous friend to give you that first designer bag :) Hope you are enjoying your wknd.
