Jackson Square: Last Morning in New Orleans

In honor of King's Day, this is me standing in front of a castle.  This was our last morning in New Orleans before heading home.  I love Charlaine Harris' books about Sookie Stackhouse and this is where I pictured Queen Sophie-Ann living when I was reading the books.

Top: Young, Fabulous and Broke
Camisole: M by Marcus
Skirt: Lapis
Shoes: Christian Dior Extreme
Cuff: So Good Jewelry
Jewelry: Blue Nile, old, DIY and Marc Jacobs
Clutch: old

These photos were taken at Jackson Square on a gorgeous December day! It was really warm; I didn't even need a sweater.  As you can see because it was so beautiful, there were many people around.  I really love this shirt, but I should go ahead and come to terms with the fact that it is simply not a flattering shirt on me.  That is disappointing because ruching usually equals flattering for non stick thin girls.  Not in this case.
We had coffee and beignets at Cafe Beignet and I have to be honest, I didn't like that my coffee was ready right away and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for the beignets.  Seriously?  Your name is Cafe Beignet, that is your specialty and you know people are going to be ordering them, make LOTS of them and have them ready.  I hate drinking all my coffee and not having any left for my food.  We thought it had been bad the last time at Cafe du Monde, but at least they had servers going up and down the line asking those who were paying in cash if they could take their order.  We didn't even wait 10 minutes and we found a place to cop a squat to eat our breakfast.  As you can see, I had powdered sugar everywhere! You can still see remnants of it on my skirt in the photo below.
Happy King's Day, everyone!  Remember, it's also Friday, so make it fabulous!
