100th Post: IFB, TxSC and Giveaway! \\ CLOSED

Today is a great day for my baby blog! This is my 100th post and it coincides with the 4th "Monthiversary" of my blog and some other very exciting news for ScorchingStyle.com.  To thank those of you who are here before the hoopla that is coming, I wanted to host an independent giveaway.

The big news first: ScorchingStyle is going to New York Fashion Week and South by Southwest! Or at least to a few fashion blogging conferences in both New York and Austin during those events.  The Independent Fashion Bloggers conference will be held in New York on February 8, the day before Mercedes Benz Fashion Week kicks off and all travel arrangements have been secured.  Then the Texas Style Council will meet in Austin March 9-11 and luckily, that is much more accessible to me.  I am really looking forward to networking with other bloggers about what makes them successful and what they want or don't want to see in blogs.  More than anything, I am very excited at the opportunity to meet so many people that I already follow and feel like I "know!"

I loved the conversations I've had with you here, or via e-mail about my post on Galliano's successor at Christian Dior.  Some of you asked me how I knew some of the history of Christian Dior and his family during WWII.  Well, I've told you before that I am a big nerd and a lover of history, so I'd really just done some research.  And I read this book, Christian Dior: A Biography by Marie-France Pochna.  Imagine my delight when I realized that John Galliano wrote the introduction for this book! How ironic, right? Well, I thought you would like to have it, too! The photos that accompany this book are so beautiful, I could spend hours just looking through it.

I also found this travel journal by Éccole with my favorite quote by Yves Saint Laurent: "Fashion fades; Style is eternal." and it seemed like the perfect accompaniment so that you can write any notes as you read.  So, the winner will receive both the Christian Dior biography and the travel journal.
